I take way too many screenshots

Recreating the outfits I hoard in my camera roll

There are 12,972 photos in my camera roll (please hold your lectures for another time). Of that, 2,789 are screenshots. I just can’t help myself, when I see a beautiful interior or a really good outfit I just need to save it. I imagine if I grew up during a time when magazines were super popular this would have resulted in a lot of clippings, but screenshots will have to do. I’ve tried organizing this archive into albums like “Good outfits” and “inspiration” but ultimately I get distracted by real life memories, sending random images in the group chat with no warning, and thus I don’t use these screenshots for their intended purpose.

This week I tried to make something of the infinite number of screenshots I have in my camera roll by using them as an outfit formula each morning and here are my results! It is such a rewarding exercise to look at your closet with an outfit already in mind, rather than looking into my closet, getting overwhelmed and declaring, I have nothing to wear!!

The inspiration comes from “thank you, ok” Madewell X Kule Dad Jean, thrifted yellow button down (similar one here), LA Apparel Tote. GH Bass Loaferfs.

I would have never thought to wear these colors together: the red, navy and pale yellow is so good. The jeans I’m wearing in the picture above are the second pair I own. Same color way and everything, just wore the first ones beyond repair, which feels like a cool thing to have done.

below). I like pairing how she paired it with a dark shoe and a bright red cardigan, I’d never tried that before!

Button down, Rothy’s

This outfit from Jenny has been in my camera roll for a really long time. I saved it because 1) it’s cute and casual, which Jenny does best and 2) I have shorts this exact same color. Her strappy shoes are so cool. I don’t have anything like it, but these Rothy’s give a similar vibe which I thought ended up looking pretty good.

in this newseltter I knew I had the things to recreate this outfit. I loved the way an oversized sweater creates this triangle shape at the waist and how the belt adds some texture. Tights would have been really cute, but I couldn’t find any.

Went for the inverse in my interpretation here, long pants and short shirt. This outfit does make me want a white denim mini skirt and it inspired me to make a little stone necklace, see below.
